Compliance at the Core
Terra Vista Co., Ltd. places full compliance with Japanese law and international regulations at the foundation of every business decision. In all transactions, we prioritize legal adherence, ethical conduct, and honest business relationships.
Our internal compliance function reviews all outbound transactions and communications before execution. We maintain continuous monitoring of regulatory updates across our operating jurisdictions.
1. Export Control & Trade Compliance
Terra Vista fully complies with Japan’s Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act (FEFTA), METI export control regulations, and all applicable international export control regimes.
- Controlled goods and technology: all required licenses are obtained before transactions proceed
- Counterparty screening: all new business partners are checked against major sanctions lists (OFAC, EU, Japan Ministry of Finance)
- International trade terms: all cross-border transactions use INCOTERMS 2020-compliant conditions
2. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy
We implement AML measures based on FATF (Financial Action Task Force) standards and Japan Financial Services Agency guidelines.
- KYC / Customer Due Diligence: all new counterparties undergo verification of business substance, beneficial ownership, and source of funds
- Suspicious transaction detection: unusual transaction patterns trigger immediate suspension and internal review
- Record retention: transaction records and KYC documentation are retained for the legally required period (7 years)
3. Sanctions Screening Policy
All transactions are screened against the following sanctions lists:

4. Personal Data Protection
We handle personal data in compliance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).
- Personal data is used only within the scope of the stated business purpose
- Third-party disclosure is limited to cases with explicit consent or a legal basis
- Information security measures are continuously strengthened
5. Food & Agricultural Product Safety
All food and agricultural products imported to Japan comply 100% with Japan’s Food Sanitation Act and the Positive List System for agricultural chemical residues.
- Chinese Tea: full farm-to-consumer traceability; pesticide management compliant with Japan’s Positive List (MAFF)
- Livestock products: only suppliers meeting Japan’s import standards for veterinary drug residues are used
- Applicable products hold third-party certifications including ISO 9001 and Fair Trade certification
6. Supply Chain Due Diligence
We respect ILO core labor standards and apply human rights and labor environment considerations across our supply chain.
- Zero tolerance for child labor and forced labor
- Nepal factories: ISO 9001 + Fair Trade certified
- EUDR-scope products: compliance preparation for 2026 requirements is in progress
7. Internal Compliance Framework
- Dedicated compliance function: an internal compliance review function pre-screens all outbound transactions and communications
- Continuous regulatory monitoring: sanctions list updates from METI, Ministry of Finance, OFAC, and EU are reviewed weekly
- Escalation path: compliance concerns are reported directly to senior management
