Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Terra Vista株式会社 (Terra Vista Co., Ltd.), a cross-border advisory group registered in Japan and the operator of terravista.co.jp (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects personal information submitted through this website. For any question about this policy or about your personal information, contact us at info@terravista.co.jp. Our registered address and the name of our representative are provided without delay upon request to the contact above.

2. What We Collect and Why

We collect personal information in three situations: when you submit an enquiry through one of our contact forms, through automated site analytics, and through the standard server logs generated by every visit. The table below summarises what we collect, the purpose of use, and how long we keep it.

3. Legal Framework

We handle personal information in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報の保護に関する法律, the “APPI”), as explained on the English-language pages of Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission.

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, our legal bases for processing are as follows: for site analytics and security, our legitimate interests in understanding and protecting this website; and for enquiries, the steps you ask us to take, at your request, prior to entering into a contract, or your consent where you choose to give it.

4. Third Parties and International Transfer

The following service providers receive limited information, only to the extent needed to run this website:

  • Google — Google Analytics (site analytics), Google Fonts (on-page typography), and Google Workspace (our business email account)
  • Unsplash — delivery of the background images used on this site
  • Our hosting provider, located in Japan, which stores the website and its server logs

Some of these providers process data outside Japan, including in the United States. We do not sell personal information. We do not provide personal information to any other third party except with your consent or as permitted or required by law.

5. Cookies and How to Opt Out

This site does not set a first-party cookie for an anonymous visitor simply loading a page. When your browser runs the Google Analytics tag, Google sets its own analytics cookies — for example _ga and _ga_<property ID> — to distinguish visitors and measure site usage.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For more detail on how Google uses data from sites like ours, see Google’s policy on partner sites.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in Section 2, using the retention periods shown in the table above: enquiry data for up to 3 years after the last contact, analytics data according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics, and server logs for a limited period necessary for security purposes. After these periods, information is deleted or anonymised.

7. Security Measures

This website is served over HTTPS. Access to the website’s administrative backend and to our business email account is restricted to authorised staff, and login credentials for these systems are managed and limited accordingly.

8. Your Rights

Under the APPI, you may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email info@terravista.co.jp. We will take reasonable steps to confirm your identity before acting on a request and will respond without delay.

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

9. Children

This website is intended for business users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. Material changes will be posted on this page. This policy is effective as of September 20, 2026.
